Jill West on 27-Oct-10
I visited Cooney's Apple Store this past Friday with the idea not only to buy apples but to shop for items to complete a wedding gift, which was the next day. After purchasing my apples I mentioned that I am putting together a wedding gift, bit by bit. I had already purchased some items and I wanted to ad to it. After taking some time browsing, I selected only my apples and when I was paying at the counter, I happened to notice up high on the shelf behind the counter a most unique glass apple jar. I had never seen anything like it. I asked to see it, and that was it. Perfect. Lisa soon introduced herself and worked with me, offering her ideas to pull this together. I needed to purchase more apples to fill the apple jar and I was handed a cloth to shine them up. While I took care of this task, Lisa was assembling my other items, with a bottle of their apple cider, in one of their wicker apple baskets. We had been trying to find an appropriate container to display all the items, and then I spotted this great basket just near the door, when I went to my car to put my apples in. She was able to wrap it with shrink-wrap. My gifts were complete. She and the young lady at the counter were so helpful. I must say that the bride and groom were thrilled with these gifts. The guest tables at the wedding were decorated baskets of apples and they had their wedding photos shot at an apple farm. Since there was one more glass apple on the shelf, I could not leave the store without it. It sits on my table filled with mutsu and cortland apples from Cooney's Apple Store. I will be back again before the store closes for the season. I now know what I will be doing, again, for a wedding gift for next June. I ordered another glass apple jar. Thanks and see you soon. Jill
