- Pop. 158. In Leeds & Grenville Cs. on C. Rd. 15, 16 km. NE of Brockville.
- The place was first named Wright's Corners after United Empire Loyalist Capt Asahel Wright settled here with his seven sons, all of whom held land grants. In 1861 postmaster Silas Wright renamed the place Algonquin after the native tribe.
