Description From Owner:
- Pop. 512. In Bosanquet and Warwick Ts., Lambton C., on C. Rds. 12 & 79, 56 km. E ofSarnia. Asa Townsend settled in 1821. The community was fIrst called Eastman's Corners because many families named Eastman had settled here.
- The post office opened in 1851 as Bosanquet, after the township. The village was known as Smithfield for a time, but in 1857 some settlers of German extraction had the name changed to Arkona after Cape Arkona on Germany's northern coast.
