- Pop. 244. In East and West Wawanosh and Hullett Ts., Huron C., on the Maitland R. and C. Rds. 8, 22, & 25, 17 km NE of Goderich.
- Although the place had come to be known as Manchester, the post office was established as Auburn in 1854 and the community was incorporated under that name in 1895. The origin of the name is not known.
