- Pop. 274. In Sidney T., Hastings C., on the Trent R. and C. Rd. 33,10 km N of Trenton. The community was created and named by Czechoslovakian shoe manufacturer Thomas Bata in 1939.
- While facilities were being built in Batawa, the company produced shoes in an old paper mill in nearby Frankford.
