- Pop. 970. In Clarence T., Prescott and Russell Cs., on Bear Brook, a tributary of the South Nation R. at C. Rds. 2 & 8, 41 km. E of Ottawa.
- The post office, opened in 1880, was named The Brook. In 1910 the name was changed to honour Ignace Bourget, bishop of Montreal 1840-1876.
