- Pop. 2,029. Part of the Town of Oakville in the Reg. Mun. of Halton, at the mouth of Twelve Mile Cr. at L. Ontario on C. Rds. 2 & 25, 46 km SW of Toronto.
- Philip Sovereign settled in 1814. He was of German descent and a Royalist, fleeing from the United States. The community was named to honour Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, one of whose titles was Duke of Bronte.
