  • Pop. 123. In the Reg. Mun. of Hamilton-Wentworth on C. Rd. 222,17 km. SW of Hamilton.
  • The first settler, in 1840, was John Calder. This area of Ancaster T. then was known as the Scotch Block because of the large number of Scots who had settled there.
  • John Calder was appointed the first postmaster and named the place after his hometown of Carluke in Scotland.
