- Pop. 510. In Innisfil T., Simcoe C., on C. Rd. 4, 5 km. W of Cook's Bay offL. Simcoe and 56 km. N of Toronto.
- The area was settled by the 1820s, and the community was frrst known as Gimby's Corners after early settler John Gimby.
- The presence of some rough characters inspired the local nickname, 'Bully's Acre.' When the post office opened in 1858 it was named Churchill, as church services at the time were held in the home of James Sloan, which was on a hilI.
