• Pop. 149. In Nottawasaga T., Simcoe C. on C. Rds. 91 & 124, 10 km. SE of Collingwood.
• The commmunity was settled in 1835 by 21 Scottish families who had received land grants. The place was first known as Scotch Corners and later McNab's Corners after an early tavernkeeper.
• In 1857 John Livingstone named the place Bomore after Bowmore on Scotland's Isle of Islay, his birthplace.
• . In 1864, Rev. John Campbell, the community's first Presbyterian minister, named the place Duntroon after his native village in Argyllshire, Scotland.
• The first postmaster, in 1836, was Angus Campbell who spoke Gaelic and little English. He is said to have placed all mail not addressed in Gaelic in a box, asking his customers to locate their own letters.
