- Pop. 33,604. In the Reg. Mun. of Hamilton-Wentworth, 11 km NW of Hamilton.
- In 1793 Augustus Jones surveyed a line through the area for the Dundas Rd. John Green, the frrst settler, arrived in 1797 and built a grist mill.
- The place was known as Progress Town (which through usage became Progreston) before being named Flamborough after Flamborough Head in the Heights of Yorkshire, England.
