- Pop. 1,611. In East Luther T.,Dufferin C., on the Grand R. and C. Rd. 25, 20 km SW of Orangeville.
- The first settlers, in 1836, were Richard Joice, Samuel Stuckey, and Richard Ponsford.
- The place was first known as Luther and kept that name when the post office opened in 1860.
- It was also known locally as Little Toronto after the Grey and Bruce Railroad line reached the community in 1871. In 1883, villagers changed the name to Grand Valley.
