- Pop. 1,187. In Hay T., Huron C., on Hwy 4 and C. Rd. 83, 58 km N of London. Brothers George and James Petty from Hensall in Yorkshire, England, founded the place they called Hensall, in 1851.
- They attracted the Huron and Bruce Railway to the community by offering free land for a station and yard, and they built a pork packing plant which was ready to operate when the railroad arrived.
