- Pop. 186. In Hullett T., Huron C., on the South Maitland River and C. Rds. 4 & 15,23 km. SE of Goderich.
- For a time the settlement was named Wright's Corners after R. Wright, the first settler, who came before 1850. Later it was also known as Hagyard's Corners after Thomas Hagyard, another early settler.
- When the post office opened in 1861, the connnunity was named Londesborough by Thomas Hagyard, who had previously lived on the estate of Lord Londesborough in Yorkshire, England.
