- Pop. 1,110. In Carrick T., Bruce C., on Otter Cr. on Hwy 9, and C. Rds. 24 & 28, 9 km S of Walkerton.
- The first settler, Samuel Merner, had the area surveyed in 1867, and the village was known briefly as Mernersville.
- The following year, when the post office was established, the place was named Mildmay after Mildmay Park in London, England.
