- Pop. 557. In Glanbrooke T., Reg. Mun. of Hamilton-Wentworth on Hwy 6, 13 km. S of Hamilton.
- The community was first called Briggs Corner after the first settler, Alma Briggs. The post office was established as Glanford in 1847, and in 1872 the name was changed to Mount Hope after a church built on a hill.
