- Pop. 81. In Perth C. on Hwy 23 and C. Rd. 72, 12 km. SW of Listowel. In 1859 hotel keeper/postmaster Charles Coulton named this community after Newry in County Down, Ireland, which had been his hometown.
- Between 1876 and 1883 the place was called Newry Station.
