- Pop. 95. In Onondaga T., Brant C. on the Grand R. and C. Rds. 8 & 54, 10 km. SE of Brantford.
- In 1842 the place was called Smith's Corners after David Smith who had moved here from nearby Jerseyville. When the post office opened in 1851 the name was changed to Onondaga after the county to end confusion with other Smith place names.
- The First Nations Peoples word means 'on the mountains' or 'high land.'
