- Pop. 1,611. In Maidstone T., Essex C., on L. St. Clair and Hwy 2 and C. Rd. 25, 25 km. E of Windsor.
- In 1874 the place name was spelled Patello. The post office opened in 1875 and the name was spelled Patillo. In 1893 the post office name was changed to Puce, derived from Riviere-aux-Puces. Puce is French for 'flea.'
