- Pop. 150. In the Reg. Mun. of Hamilton-Wentworth on Hwy 8, 16 km. NW of Dundas. Lemuel Lamb was the first settler and the community that developed was called Lambsville.
- When the post office was to be established in 1851, many residents wanted to keep the name to honour Mr. Lamb.
- Bu t Mr s. William Barlow, wife of the Beverly T. clerk and first postmaster proposed the name Rockton to reflect the area's topography.
