- Pop. 119. In Thunder Bay Dist. on Nipigon Bay of Lake Superior and Hwy 17, 81 km. SE of Nipigon.
- The place was frrst called Gravel River and then McKay's Landing, after the first lighthouse keeper. In 1889 it was renamed Ross Port after Walter Inkerman Ross, a railway contractor.
