- Pop. 1,823. Town in Cochrane Dist. on the Mattagami R. and Hwys 11 & 634,41 km.SE of Kapuskasing.
- In 1915 a dam, power house, and pulp mill were built where the river flows over a huge face of smooth rock. In 1927 the mill was bought by the Abitibi Power and Paper Co.
- The town is a one industry, closed company town, which has resulted in the creation nearby of the small residential communities ofMoorville, Unionville, and Clouthierville.
