- Pop. 552. In Edwardsburgh T., Leeds and Grenville Cs., on the South Nation R. and C. Rds. 21 & 44, 14 km. NW of Prescott.
- Pe1eg Spencer and his son David built a sawmill at the site in 1811, and by 1821 they were also operating a grist mill, which served the pioneer settlers of a wide area.
- When the post office was established in 1841, the place was named after its founder.
