Your Host(s) : Marc Todesco

Description From Owner:

  • Marc started playing professionally at local schools and community events at age 13. It was not until age 18 years of age that he broke into the competitive music scene; playing side by side with top players.
  • Chris McCann referred Marc to his former partner Bill Joslin. There he met recording blues artist Georgette Fry, who sang along side Bill. Marc was soon receiving offers to play with many bands in the Kingston area.
  • A significant offer came along when guitar player Stewart Ross, student of David Wilcox, offered him a summer job playing with the band, Vince Taylor .This experience fine-tuned Marc’s playing and increased his popularity significantly.
  • He was then recruited by the band, Dere Ruth, led by Gerald Nontell an extraordinary song writer and singer from Westport Ontario.
  • This band caught attention of booking agents all across Ontario. The band’s popularity secured an audition with CBS records. The group did not accept the terms and conditions of CBS and later disbanded.
  • Consequently Marc solicited himself as a drummer for hire and continued to gain experience gigging with popular local Blues and Country recording artists.
  • By the 90s an original rock band, Condition Red became his next major project. The band was among the largest production show bands out of Kingston at the time.
  • Playing throughout Ontario, Quebec and New York State, the group captured a great following. The band eventually changed its name to Dirty Works.
  • A strong line up, Dirty Works triumphed as Kingston’s first major “Battle of the Bands” winners.
  • This provided resources to record original material. The band succeeded for two years until unresolved ideals interfered with the bands momentum. Nevertheless Marc continued to gig while conducting private lessons.
  • Today Marc resides in Trenton Ontario with his family with a new vision. Currently he is teaching drumming for several elementary schools in the area and a limited number of students on a private basis.
  • He also travels to Barrie Ontario once per month to study privately with renowned instructor Jim Blackley.
