Description From Owner:

  • Take a ride on an authentic, 1906 C.W. Parker Carousel. Only four of the Roseneath type of carousel were made in North America and the Roseneath Carousel was found to be stamped Number 3 on the ring gear during restoration.
  • The Roseneath Carousel built in Abilene, Kansas, consists of 40 wooden horses and two boats of Herschell/Spillman or Armitage/Herschell on the centre row and Parker Jumpers on the outside and inside rows.
  • A Wurlitzer 125 Band Organ (with paper rolls) strikes up the music. Bought in 1932 by the Roseneath Agricultural Society, it continually operated during the annual Roseneath Fall Fair.
  • July 17, 1993 marked the grand reopening of one of Northumberland County's treasures. Fundraising continues. A new climate controlled building is needed to house and protect the restored carousel.
  • All monies raised (after maintenance charges) from souvenirs, rides and rentals for weddings, bus tours, parties, etc. go directly into the building fund.
  • Become a friend of the Roseneath Carousel...your donation will assist us in our efforts to preserve and operate the Carousel; a precious reminder of our roots in Rural Ontario.
