Spending time near the water on a warm summer evening, with a cold drink and great food, is the perfect recipe! This was the first visit to the Boathouse - and even under the current circumstances, the experience was positive. The menu is extensive, so there is bound to be something for every taste. I really enjoyed the halibut - perfectly done, not to heavy or greasy. The garlic mashed potatoes - as a side were A1. The steamed vegetables - crispy! The starter of calamari was a different twist on the transitional offering, but equally enjoyable. The drink menu is varied, and there is a small, but decent craft beer selection. I enjoyed the Prince Eddy. The service was friendly and engaging - even with masks on. While we couldn’t enjoy the dockside patio (wait was too long), the upfront patio still provided for an outdoor and enjoyable dining experience. I’d visit again!

What a nice discovery. I fell in love with this restaurant. Yes, the cuisine is tasty and fresh, the view is wonderful and the service is professional. It was my first visit but I went back the day after for a lunch to catch the sun at the patio. The local wine is really good and the seafood is one of the best. Wherever you choose from the menu, you will love it (especially the menu for two to discover the potential of this cuisine). Thank you Nicole for your service. I’ll be back for sure.

I love the location the food and the decor. Prices I find reasonable but my one complaint is with the waitresses. (only the older ones) I find very rude they make it quite obvious they want you to eat and leave no offer of dessert or coffee then when we asked for glasses of water after our meal it was clearly an inconvenience to her. I found the same on another occasion the older waitresses bossing the young ones around in front of patrons very unattractive indeed!

July 4 2013 Today was our first visit to the Boathouse and we were not disappointed with the food. However the service was lacking. Had to wait a while to order a drink and when our meal came we had to ask for cutlery and after waiting a while finally had to get it ourselves. We assumed she may have been new or too busy. However a NOTE TO OUR SERVER. Never address a patron as 'dear'. It condescending, unprofessional and disrespectful.

These people set the bar very high indeed for fabulous fresh fish and chips. I live in Winnipeg now and dream of an excuse to come back for a visit, which would have to include the Boathouse. Huge portions, the fish is sweet and fresh and always perfectly cooked. Service is either really quick or wierdly slow. I have no idea what the rest of the menu is like because I can never order anything but their Special. it's just SO GOOD.

We have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. The fish and chips are the best in town! Sometimes we get a disinterested waitress but usually the service is pretty good.
