Wow, what a nice place. If you are thinking about buying apples, why not go to this great big store just east of Bowmanville. They also sell cheese, produce, baked goods, gift and deli items and hot and cold cider. It's worth the drive.

I visited this bright and spacious 'farm store' a few days ago. I am addicted to Honey Crisp apples and this store sells them in large size baskets. They also carry a full range of other apple varieties, baked goods (including bread), fresh vegetables, charcuterie and a very large selections of oils, sauces, relishes. vinegars, frozen food, cheeses, dairy, etc. They are also selling Christmas trees and other seasonal, decorative items at this time. Their products are fresh, and are very well displayed and presented. I was there on a Wednesday morning and they were quite busy, so I can only imagine what weekend traffic would look like. There is ample parking in their own paved lot and I believe that the store is considered handicap accessible. Store staff were friendly and helpful, and the premises were spotless. There are other comments here about the products being pricy...and they are. However, we all vote with our dollar and if you prefer shopping elsewhere then so be it. However, I choose to go with the quality of their apples. The store is a pleasant one hour (or less) from Toronto (I suggest the more scenic Hwy 2) and makes for an interesting destination stop.

Great fresh food. Personally I love their apple crisps (add ice cream for extra goodness). Desserts are good, obviously the apples too and they have frozen meat pies from the freezer that I take home and throw on the oven. Everything at Algoma is good quality, no complaints here.

My husband and I come out about every 2 weeks to get our apples and always have lunch there. They have the most delicious sandwiches and soup. Fresh baked bread with meat of your choice and cheese of your choice and all the delicious fixings. The ladies in the store are always so happy and friendly and very helpful. The baked goods are delicious as well. I would like to personally thank the two wonderful ladies who got me the bushel baskets for my daughters display for her business. You folks are the best!!
