Community Advocacy Services (Adult Protective Service Program) is funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services and sponsored in Northumberland County by Access Community Services, Port Hope.
The program is designed to assist adults with an intellectual disability to live their lives to their fullest potential and as independently as possible within their community.
Referrals come from many sources including self, family, friends, and community services. Client services include primarily advocacy and case management.
Additional services may include assistance with money management, securing and maintaining accommodation, medical and dental co-ordination, instrumental counselling (daily living skills) and short term emotional counselling.
