- Pop. 2,033. In Arthur and West Luther Ts., Wellington C., on the Conestogo R. and Hwys 6 and C. Rds. 12,14 & 109, 40 km. NW of Guelph.
- The site was surveyed in 1841, and the village, at the south end of the Garafraxa Colonization Rd., was laid out by a Mr. Silverthorn in 1846. It was named after Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington, victor of the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
