Not a tweed local, but I could tell this is a beloved spot for locals to drop by. It looked like a nice community spot for families to come and enjoy a lot of classic breakfast options. Yeah, the plastic cups are clearly quite old, and the table I sat at rocked back and forth, but it’s the kind of charm you’d expect from a place like this. I got the Gateway Breakfast, which is basically a standard eggs-bacon/sausage-toast-home fries breakfast. It tastes just about how you’d expect, with a pretty generous portion size for only $10. The service was great and friendly, and they take other payment methods too.

Just stopped there on Monday, August 28. Excellent service, really good coffee, and the home fries are real potatoes. Food was well cooked and was served to our table very quickly. A real local treasure. Very friendly staff. If you are looking for a great breakfast, you must go there.

My husband and I ordered the Mother’s Day special and what a treat! The strawberry, pecan, feta, and spring mix salad was fresh and tasty. My husband had the balsamic steak fettuccine Alfredo and said it was excellent. I ordered the lemon chicken entree and it was a generous portion and delicious. However, the real star of the meal was the homemade strawberry shortcake with real whipped cream and fresh strawberries. The portion was huge but both my husband and I gobbled it up! The next day my husband came home from work and said, “ I can’t stop thinking about that cake; it was so good!” We’d love to order the cake for a special occasion, like every Sunday. Thanks Gateway staff for a wonderful meal.

I had a very pleasant experience at this restaurant! First off, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Everything was sanitized very frequently and kept clean! We ordered chicken souvlaki, a chicken stir fry and spaghetti with meatballs. Both chicken dishes were cooked and flavoured very well. The spaghetti was decent but the meatballs tasted super good and were cooked perfectly. Also, I enjoyed their garlic bread since they had an excellent flavour and were crispy but not burnt! Everything was also decently priced! Keep it up

Handsdown one of the best fish and chips we had!! The service was amazing. Covid protocols are in place, they are even doing contact tracing. Better than here in Toronto. 5+ stars to staff who are very accommodating and friendly! They only serve fish and chips in Fridays. We came on Saturday only looking for fish and chips and we told them that and voila! They were able to cater our needs and exceeded all our expectations! Fish and fries were so tasty, crispy on the outside, juicy inside. Amazing experience! The liver and onion was also really good. Will definitely visit again when in the area. Highly recommended!

Very enjoyable time! Went for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by the level of service and the food. Very good meal at a reasonable price , given the “new normal” with friendly service. Overall a good experience and one I would recommend to anyone.
