- Pop. 444. In Peel T., Wellington C., on C. Rds. 7 & 17,30 km. N of Kitchener.
- Alexander MacCrea and his wife came from Port Hope in 1848 and settled where the townships of Peel, Nichol, and Pilkington now meet.
- When the post office was established in 1854, the place was called MacCrae's Corners.
- In 1870 when the Wellington, Grey and Bruce Railway arrived, the name was changed to Alma, commemorating a British and French victory over Russian Forces near the Alma R. in the Crimean War in 1854.
