Pop. 60. In Grey C., 2.5 km. SE of Leith on C. Rd. 15, 10 km. NE of Owen Sound.
The place was frrst called Speedie in 1865 after postmaster William Speedie. Dunedin was later proposed as a name for the community, but such a name already was in use.
Many of the settlers came from Annan in Dumfriesshire, Scotland, so that name was accepted in 1874.
