Description From Owner:

Pop. 244. In Ekfrid T., Middlesex C., on C. Rds. 8 & 14 and the CNR, 32 km. SW of London.
Scottish immigrants created a settlement before 1850. The arrival of the Great Western Railway in 1854 brought more settlers to the community that became known as Ekfrid Centre.
In 1861, Dr. D. S. McKellar purchased land, surveyed it into village lots and named the community Appin in honour of his birth place in Argyllshire, Scotland.
