- 1,464. In Wilmot T., Reg. Mun. of Waterloo, on Spring Cr., a tributary of the Nith R. and C. Rd. 6, 16 km. SW of Kitchener.
- Jacob Beck from the Grand Duchy of Baden in Germany laid out the village in 1855 and named it after his birthplace.
- His son, later Sir Adam Beck, introduced a bill in the provincial legislature in 1906, creating the Ontario Hydro-Electric Power Commission.
- He became its first chair and is remembered by Adam Beck Memorial Park in Baden.
- In the 1820s, with the assistance of Mennonites already established in the area, Christian Nafziger arranged for a number of European Amish families to settle on a tract of land in what later became Wilmot T. Baden is noted for its Limburger cheese.
