Pop. 73. In Lanark C. on C. Rd. 17, 17 km NW of Carleton Place.
First named Norway Pine Falls, the community's name changed to Snedden's and Snedden's Mills after Alexander Snedden who settled in the 1820s and built a mill. Later it was called Rosebank.
When the post office was opened in 1874, the name was changed to honour Dominick Edward Blake, premier of Ontario 1871-72.
