- Pop. 2,500. In Sarnia T., Lambton C., at the Send ofL. Huron on C. Rd. 7, 16 km NE of Sarnia.
- . In 1829 Henry Jones attempted to establish a socialist settlement or commune similar to those of the Hutterites and along lines advocated by social reformer Robert Owen.
- It failed by 1830, and a community called Maxwell grew in its place. By 1835 the place was known as Maxwell Settlement, and in 1863 a post office opened called Perch Station.
- John Bright owned a lake front farm with a grove of trees near the beach, and the resort community he developed, took the name Bright's Grove in 1935.
