- Pop. 208. In Plympton T., Lambton C., on C. Rd. 7, 17 km. E of Sarnia.
- The settlement came into being in 1859 with the arrival of the Grand Trunk Railway line from Stratford to Sarnia.
- One of the first settlers was Duncan McDonald who arrived in the early 1860s and became the first postmaster, in 1864. McDonald named the community Camlachie after a suburb of Glasgow, Scotland.
