Pop. 208. In Plympton T., Lambton C., on C. Rd. 7, 17 km. E of Sarnia.
The settlement came into being in 1859 with the arrival of the Grand Trunk Railway line from Stratford to Sarnia.
One of the first settlers was Duncan McDonald who arrived in the early 1860s and became the first postmaster, in 1864. McDonald named the community Camlachie after a suburb of Glasgow, Scotland.
