Central Patricia now consists only of a few buildings located at the terminus of Highway 599 within the township, while Pickle Crow is a ghost town.
Pop. 150. In Connelly T., Kenora Dist. on the Kawinogans R. and Hwy 599, 3 km NE of Pickle Lake, 292 km NE of Ignace.
The place was named after a mining company and in 1935 the post office was called Pickle Crow. It was renamed Central Patricia in 1937.

Good-day I was wondering if the Bouchets still live at central pat.I was in the navy with Larry in the 60's his mom ran a grocery store in central pat. that was when we were up there . His dad was an electrician running the maintenance truck for the crews building the new road from Savant Lake great guy Larry , he had a brother in at the same time in Victoria , Esquimalt Naden thanks in advance . My grand-daughter is a nurce who recently worked at the nursing station at Round Lake .Liked being able to help.

Iam looking to contact Larry Boucet who I was in the navy band back in the 60;s I live in St.Thomas On . We stayed at his mom's place in central pat in the mid 60's she had a grocery store in the community any help would be appreciated thanks. EW dwest@storm.ca

Well, now that I am retired, I have more time to think about the Pat and recall my visit back there about four years ago. While I was born in Winnipeg in 1944, my Mother quickly returned to the 'Pat' where my Dad, William ('Bill') Hryniuk and my Brother, 'Bill junior) were waiting to see me and my Brother,named me. From 1944 to late 1952 I grew up there and went to school for grades 1 and 2 with Mrs. Bell as teacher, then and remember that we took the day the 'King'died quite easily and tried to understand what that meant to us i.e.'The King is dead.' came over the radio solemnly on the CBC radio. Bill and I were up there once and tracked some of our memories. I was up there twice and stayed with the Catholic priest Father Charland and Brother Martin once in 1969 and then later about 1971 or 2 when I brought my Mother up: 'Steffie Hryniuk and sister Mariane Carol Hryniuk who was born into the family after in Winnipeg where we settled upon leaving the Pat. I will say more as I get throught the blogs which I am thorougly enjoying. Thank you for the chance to do some reminscing so far. Terry Hryniuk
