- Pop. 442. In Clarence T., Prescott and Russell Cs., on C. Rd. 8, 41 km. NE of Ottawa.
- John Tyler was among the first pioneers, arriving in 1859. The post office was established as Clarence Creek in 1867.
- In 1935 the post office changed the name to LaFontaine, but the following year it was changed back to Clarence Creek.
- The community takes its name from the township, which was named in honour of Prince William Henry, Duke of Clarence, son of George III.
