- Pop. 236. In Radcliffe T., Renfrew C., on the Masdawaska R. and junction of C. Rds. 62, 68, 515 & 517,18 km. S of Barry's Bay and 96 km. SW of Pembroke.
- Prior to 1865 when the post office opened, the community was known as Dennison's. The place was named after Viscount Combermere (1773¬1865) who had a distinguished military career.
- Nearby is the birthplace of John Wesley Dafoe (1866-1944) journalist and crusader and one of the founders of the Canadian Institute of International Affairs.
