- Pop. 3,869. In Delhi T., Reg. Mun. of Haldimand-Norfolk, on Big Cr. and Hwy 3 and C. Rds. 24, 37 & 59, 18 km. E of Tillsonburg.
- 'The Tobacco Capital of Norfolk' was settled in the early 1800s by the Sovereen family and was fIrst known as Sovereen's Corners.
- When Fred Sovereen laid out a townsite in 1828 he called the place Fredericksburg, but that name was in use elsewhere and the post office chose the name Middleton.
- In 1832 the first postmaster, Robert Decow, renamed the town Delhi after the capital city of India.
