- Pop. 156 In Marmora T., Hastings C. on the Moira R. and C. Rd. II, 1 km N of Hwy 7, 58 km. NE of Peterborough.
- . 'De l'oro' is Spanish for 'of gold.' After gold was discovered at nearby Eldorado in 1866, shafts were sunk throughout the district, at least 20 on the site of the present community.
- In the late 1890s, Canadian GoldfIelds Ltd. and Atlas Gold and Arsenic Mining Co., bought properties at Deloro and began mining gold and arsenic, continuing until 1904.
- When silver was discovered at Cobalt in 1903, the Deloro Mining and Reduction Company built a silver refinery at Deloro.
- The first cobalt metal produced commercially in the world came from here. In 1961 the company closed its operations, demolished the plant, sold its houses and buried the arsenic refuse.
