Pop. 112. In Lake of Bays T., Dist. Mun. of Muskoka at the N end of Lake of Bays and Hwy 60,2 km. NW of its junction with Hwy 35, 24 km. E of Huntsville.
The community was named for Harvey Prentice Dwight (1828-1912) president of Great Northwestern Telegraph Co., who made many trips to the area with fellow sportsmen.
. In 1871 he installed a telegraph office in Edmund Gouldie' s store and the post office was subsequently named in his honour.
