  • Eastwood Pop. 68. In Oxford C. on C. Rds. 2 & 55, 6 km. E of Woodstock was named in 1853 after a home built here in the 1830s by Rear Adm. Henry Vansittart (1777-1843).
  • The name honoured his widowed sister who lived with him and whose married name was East.
