  • Pop. 1,224. In Grattan T., Renfrew C., on the Bonnechere R. and Hwys41 & 60 and C. Rd. 512,35 km. SE of Pembroke.
  • In 1825 Gregoire Belanger became the first settler, but he left the following year. John Egan arrived in the 1830s at what was then known as Donegal, and developed the townsite.
  • When the post office opened in 1852 the place was named Eganville. The town was almost completely destroyed by fIre in 1911.
