- Pop. 1,860. In Flos T., Simcoe C., on the Wye R. and C. Rds. 6, 19 & 92, 26 km. NW of Barrie.
- First known as Four Corners and then Elm Flats and shown on some maps as Saurin, a name proposed by railway construction engineer James Saurin Murray. When the post office opened in 1859, the place was named Elmvale.
