Description From Owner:
- Pop. 838. In West Zorra T., Oxford C., on the Thames R. and Mud Cr. and C. Rds. 6 & 33, 14 km. W of Woodstock.
- The settlement was founded by Donald Matheson in the early 1830s and fIrst known as Edinborough and then Palmerston Depot. In 1836 the post office was named Embo, after an area of Sutherlandshire in Scotland which had been home to many of the settlers.
- A clerical error added the R to the name.
