Pop. 11. In Tay T., Simcoe C., on Matchedash Bay off Severn Sound off Georgian Bay and C. Rd. 12,34 km. NW of Orillia.
Benjamin Dusong was the first settler, in 1840.
The place was fIrst known as Bush's Point after another pioneer. When the Midland Railway of Canada was extending its line through the area in the 1870s, the railroad president, a Mr. Hugel, named the settlement Fesserton after a friend.
The post office was established in 1877.
