- Pop. 11. In Tay T., Simcoe C., on Matchedash Bay off Severn Sound off Georgian Bay and C. Rd. 12,34 km. NW of Orillia.
- Benjamin Dusong was the first settler, in 1840.
- The place was fIrst known as Bush's Point after another pioneer. When the Midland Railway of Canada was extending its line through the area in the 1870s, the railroad president, a Mr. Hugel, named the settlement Fesserton after a friend.
- The post office was established in 1877.
