Description From Owner:

Pop. 223. In South Plantagenet T., Prescott and Russell Cs., on Paxton Cr., a branch of the South Nation R. on C. Rds. 10 & 15, 66 km. E of Ottawa.
Bernard Lemieux settled in 1855. He came from Quebec and built a sawmill and a grist mill. In 1856 Cajetan Fournier opened a store.
The community was named Fournierville for a time, but when the post office opened in 1856 Fournier became the frrst postmaster and named the place Fournier after himself.
