- Pop. 114. In Renfrew C. on C. Rds. 512 & 515, 27 km. SE of Barry's Bay. At 523 metres above sea level, Foymount is believed to be Ontario's highest populated place.
- In 1864 it was called Madrid, but in 1873 it was renamed Foymount after postmaster/tavern keeper John Foy. In 1952 it was the site of RCAF Station Foymount, but after the base closed in 1966, the name reverted to Foymount.
